The St. Catherine Chapel (or Chapel on the Rock) at Camp St. Malo in Allenspark, Colorado is one of the most spectacular wedding locations in the entire state. Having been dedicated in 1935 the St. Catherine Chapel sits on a rock foundation on the grounds of Camp St. Malo just south of Estes Park.
This is a professional videographer's dream assignment. The location faces due North giving you superb shadow relief and great form, plus you get the spectacular views of the Rockies to the West along with rolling green hills, a small stream running though and no houses of signs of civilization to spoil your composition. I had been looking forward to this shoot for months!
This was the site for Mandy's and Matthew's wedding. The interior of the Church is small,
and bathed in natural light, it is illuminated by the stained glass on the East and West walls, creating a really intimate and powerful wedding event. From a Catholic and historical perspective, Saint John Paul II prayed here on his historic World Youth Day Trip to Denver in 1993. The chapel is open to the public and governed by the Archdiocese of Denver. This couple's footage is really nice, and their HD wedding video will be one to cherish.
